Remote Camera Project

Students problem solve ways to put a video camera above the school commons, thus anticipating what they wanted from the sensor and how best to achieve such.

GPS Scavenger Hunt

Students at El Dorado High School hid targets around their campus and had their classmates use GPS units to find those targets.

Geocaching Activity

In this activity the students were equipped with Garmin e-Trek GPS devices with cache courses pre-loaded and created on the device by the fellow. The courses were all within the city park at each course had a prize at the end. The group seemed to really enjoy this activity and once done were ready for a more challenging cache!

Creating A Sediment Water Filter

In this activity students were asked to create their own sediment water filter using a water bottle and some basic materials. Some of the materials include: flour, sugar, sand, gravel, plastic beads, cotton balls, etc. The students were only allowed to use three materials and it was up to them to create the best filter in the class based on the types and order of their materials.
