What to Bring to the Summer Institute

Curriculum Materials

Teachers should bring thier curriculum materials; a portion of the summer institute will be used to develop ideas of how to incorporate sensor technology into the teacher's plans for the year.

Similarly, if fellows have lesson ideas or specific sensors they'd like to work with, please bring these as well.

Note-taking Supplies

Everyone should bring note-taking supplies - a notebook, pencils, and the like. We also will have interent access and power outlets if you would like to bring your laptop.

Clothing

Most of the activities will be held indoors or on campus, so wear comfortable clothing.

Several activities like the K-State Challenge Course, the Konza Prarie tour, and the Field Sensor trip will be in outdoors environments off the beaten path. Participants are encouranged to wear long pants, sturdy, close-toed shoes (No sandals or flip-flops, please), insect repellant and sunscreen.
