7th grade students using Wii remotes, bungees, and toy trucks to test Newton's Laws and acceleration. There were four different variable stations: Mass Vs. Velocity, Friction Vs. Velocity, Force Vs. Velocity, and Force Vs. Accleration (wii remotes).
Sun SPOT Wireless Sensor System Activity
This activity allowed my weight lifting students to experience when they achieved a parallel position when performing the squat lift. They started the activity by strapping the Sun SPOT using an elastic wrap to their anterior thigh. They had a partner watch the sensor to see when five blue LED's would light up. If the sensor lit up then they achieved a parallel position. In the pictures you will notice the Sun SPOT strapped to my student's thigh, me (Mrs. Canfield) instructing the students when they have achieved the parallel position according to the sensor, and my student's experiencing this wonderful piece of technology.
