  Program Details

INSIGHT (Infusing System Design and Sensor Technology in Education) is an exciting partnership between Kansas State University, Kansas Schools, and the National Science Foundation working to instill the use of current sensor technologies into regular classroom learning. It is the second GK-12 program offered by Kansas State, alongside project EIDroP.

The INSIGHT Program partners graduate students studying Engineering disciplines with Kansas Teachers - giving the teacher an excellent resource to draw upon when developing and teaching lessons incorporating the latest in sensor research. The graduate students also benefit from the opportunity to work with high school, junior high, and even elementary students, developing valuable communication skills and inspiring the next generation of engineers and scientists.

INSIGHT also hosts a two-week summer training program to introduce partner teachers to various sensor technologies, as well as developing teaching strategies to effectively use this new knowledge in the classroom. This is also where our teacher/ graduate student teams meet for the first time.
